When Ron and Rena Greisel moved to Concan in 1991, their intent was to retire quietly in the beautiful Texas Hill Country they had always vacationed with their children. They bought Riverside as their home in 1991 and sold their property in Edinburg, where they had lived most of their lives, with Rena as a rancher and Ron as a teacher. It wasn't long before Studio was built in 1992, followed by Frio Vista in 1993, River Oaks # 1-7 in 1994, and # 8-12 the following year.

In 1996, Big Oak and Deer Run # 1 were bought and Ron and Rena took over the management of their properties. Ron built one of the first website's that featured cabins for rent in Concan and maintained it until 2003.

Rena continues to work in the front office taking reservations and welcoming customers to Concan. Ron and Rena invited their daughter Rachael and her family to live and work in Concan with the purchase of Cypress Villa cabins. As a family they continued to buy and build cabins, as well as work in the office together.
